Sudek Project
Sudek in a box

In November 1989, the Institute of Art History received Josef Sudek's original photographs in these beautiful boxes. We cherish them with the same diligence as the photographs themselves.

Opening of Josef Sudek: In the Studio

The commemoration of Josef Sudek’s double anniversary (1896–1976) will be concluded by the intimately conceived exhibition "Josef Sudek: In the Studio". The views into the studios of several Prague-based artists will be presented in the new prints, specifically new gelatin silver prints, printed from Josef Sudek's original negatives from the collection of the Institute of Art History of the Czech Academy of Sciences. The exhibition will take place at the Galerie Věda a umění (the Gallery of Sicence and Art) in the main building of the Czech Academy of Sciences (Národní 3, Prague 1) from December 2, 2016 until January 27, 2017. The opening of the exhibition will be held on December 1, 2016 at 6 pm. The curators of the exhibition are Vojtěch Lahoda and Katarína Mašterová and the new prints were made by Vlado Bohdan. Further information can be found HERE.
